A Nintendo Switch 2 user has alarmed the community after he was banned from Nintendo Online after uploading updates for games he purchased second-hand from the Marketplace on Facebook.
The issue stems from Nintendo’s piracy protection system, which associates each game bar with a unique identifier. When a copied or duplicate bar is used, the system can detect it and block access to online services.
Fortunately, the player confirmed that the ban is temporary and can be easily resolved by contacting Nintendo Support through live chat on the official website, where the ban will be unblocked in a short time.
It is advised not to buy used games from unreliable sources, especially with the Switch 2’s support for compatibility with Switch 1 games, to avoid any similar issues in the future.
